Metric Spur Gears
Aside from our wide variety of mechanical products like Bearings and our Power Transmission systems like V Pulley and V Belts, BearingShopUK also offers a wide variety of Spur Gears available in Imperial and Metric units.
Our Imperial Spur Gears are only available in Steel, however, our Metric Spur Gears are available in four different material options:
- Hostaform
- Moulded Delrin
- Steel
- Stainless Steel
Hostaform is an engineering thermoplastic that is ideal for precision parts requiring the highest dimensional stability, rigidity and low friction. Moulded Delrin, on the other hand, is an acetal resin which adequately replaces metal with its resistance to abrasion, its ability to withstand mechanical fatigue and wear, while providing strength and tolerance. Steel and stainless alloy are two materials which are more commonly used. If you require firmness and tensile strength, Steel is the better material to choose. If you want a material that is resistant to corrosion, water staining or rusting, Stainless Steel would be the better option.
You will find plenty of Metric Spur Gears available at BearingShopUK. Instead of DP or diametral pitch, metric gear pitches are classified with Mod or module pitches. Our Metric Spur Gears are available starting from 0.5 Mod to 8 Mod, as shown in the Mod filter on the left hand side. Our gears are also available with from 12 to 150 gear teeth.
