Tensioner Arms
In Power Transmission systems, chains and sprockets work together to efficiently transmit power. Mechanical tension - or "load" in more familiar terms - is kept to make sure that the mechanical belts and pulley system are in contact with one another. One of the best examples of a Power Transmission system using tensioners is V Belts on a V Pulley.
In general, tensioners are devices used to apply force on an object to retain tension. Tensioners are usually adjustable tension providers depending on the type of driving force needed. Belts and chains require different amounts of tension for different types of application.
BearingShopUK offers three parts of tensioner for your mechanical needs:
- Tension Arms
- Tensioner Sprockets
- Tension Rollers
Tension Arms are typically used for standard tensioning on most types of Power Transmission systems, such as a Roller Chain and Belt drive system. The “arms” refer to a thin, flat strip of steel with the tensioner attached to one end and another end used for mounting. Tensioner Sprockets are designed for chain drives with the sprocket wheel running on Ball Bearings. Just like Tensioner Sprockets, Tension Rollers are ideal mechanical belt tensioners, made up of high-grade industrial plastic with Ball Bearings.
